If you’re not into long-haul driving and would rather an easier city escape, Upper Squamish is an ideal region. Whether you are looking for some peace and quiet, adrenaline, or both, the Squamish River is one of our favourite spots close to home.

The 80 kilometre glacier-fed river originates at the Pemberton Icefield and flows into Howe Sound, a network of fjords situated northwest of Vancouver.  The Squamish River is a mere hour and a half away from downtown Vancouver, and it provides a multitude of recreational activities to enjoy.

Grab some breakfast grub at Fergie’s Cafe on Squamish Valley Road on your way to the backroads before finding your ideal camping spot.  There are tons different camping options in the area that are either river-front or close to the river.  Even the most accessible campsites such as Squamish Valley Campground offer incredible river-side sites where you and your pals can hang out on the sandy beaches during the day with stunning mountain views and perfect star-gazing night skies. If you're into exploring a bit further, we are happy to provide customers with some great, lesser-known campsites further up Squamish River and even along the Elaho River.

Spend your days on the water river rafting and fishing, or choose from a ton of accessible hikes in the area.
