October: What we're crushing on

October: What we're crushing on

Road trip tunes, our favourite Instagram account, cozy fall camp-wear, and local food; some companies are doing some neat things in and around Vancouver. Here are our favourite October finds to get you through the autumn season.

Top five places to experience autumn in BC

Top five places to experience autumn in BC

With the summer heat gone and the BC wildfires under control, we’re getting stoked for autumn adventures.  The fresh, crispness in the air and the bright colours of the changing leaves make us eager to explore during a season with less tourists, less cars on the road and less people to compete with in finding that backroad camp spot. Here are our top picks on where to experience fall in BC.

September: What we're crushing on

September: What we're crushing on

We’re a big fan of supporting aligning local businesses that produce quality-made goods, and folks who fully embrace the PNW lifestyle. Here’s a few items (and people) that we’re crushing on this month.

Upper Squamish: An easy city escape

If you’re not into long-haul driving and would rather an easier city escape, Upper Squamish is an ideal region. Whether you are looking for some peace and quiet, adrenaline, or both, the Squamish River is one of our favourite spots close to home.

Southern Vancouver Island: The perfect destination for adventure

Southern Vancouver Island: The perfect destination for adventure

Vancouver Island is a sparsely populated nature haven.  With plentiful wildlife, surrounding ocean, mountains peaks, rivers, lakes and old-growth rainforests, the diverse environment creates an ideal playground for us to enjoy, especially in the summertime.

Wildfires: Unaffected areas and where to travel this summer

Wildfires: Unaffected areas and where to travel this summer

The summer heat has brought with it a multitude of wildfires.  The good news? There are still plenty of areas that haven’t been affected. The coastal regions in BC and mountainous parks near the Alberta border are unaffected, and Alberta has a good handle on their fire situation. The local fires also provides a good excuse to cross the border into the United States and check out neighbouring Washington and Oregon.

Why Wells Gray Provincial Park should be on your summer bucket list

There aren’t many places that hit our core quite like Well’s Gray Provincial Park.  Located in east-central British Columbia, Well’s Gray protects most of the southern Cariboo Mountains and is nestled just three and a half hours from iconic Jasper, Alberta.
